It's getting less! This year, with the desire that I had for summer, I propose to make the most of what I have left of leisure . And I'm going to do it enjoying the little things to the fullest. Can I give you an example? Movie and sofa moments. Today I'm going to talk about my favorite feel-good movies .
I'm sure you also have yours: those movies that you always like and don't get tired even if you've seen them a lot of times.
Do you want to know which are my favorite titles for those summer afternoons in which there is nothing to do but… enjoy?
Come on, let me tell you.
Movies that never fail: these are my 5 favorite feel-good movies
I don't know if the same thing happens to you, but I relax a lot watching those movies that have an objective: to make you feel good, to transmit good vibrations and that when The End appears , you are left with a smile on your face and very good feelings in the body.
That, and that I will have eaten a bowl of popcorn. That everything helps 😉
1. Mamma Mia (2008)
I will never get tired of watching this movie. For me it represents a summer that never ends, with all the ingredients that bring me happiness: the light of the Mediterranean, the sun, the sea, music that never goes out of style, an eternal party and those wonderful seventies outfits...
On my personal podium is the first film, with a Meryl Streep in a state of grace. Although for the remainder of the summer I'm going to give the 2018 sequel Mamma Mia, here we go again a chance , with part of the cast from the previous one (especially the three “fathers” of Amanda Seyfried) and the participation of Cher acting as a stylish grandmother.
I haven't seen it yet, but things promise.
2. In The Heights (2021)
Without a doubt, one of the premieres of the year and the musical of the summer, based on the Broadway original with lyrics and music by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
This time, the good vibes move to New York (a city that I love above all things) and to the Washington Heights neighborhood, with a marked Latino accent.
A film that recovers the atmosphere of the streets in its best version: a lot of rhythm and a beautiful story, that of a neighborhood store whose owner dreams of a better life. Laughter and tears are guaranteed.
And what else do I notice? Now you know! In the styles. In this case, the film reflects the best of street wear , a variety of ripped jeans, lots of sneakers and jogger fashion at its best.
(On other occasions I pay attention to jewelry: here I told you about the coolest necklaces in the history of cinema ).
3. Under the Tuscan sun (2003)
Whenever I think of feel -good movies , a romantic one appears.
And this one, although it is years old, is placed in my first positions. It is the story of an American writer who, after a traumatic divorce, goes on vacation to Italy for a few days, where she falls in love again.
The trick is that he falls in love… with a house. A semi-ruined villa, as she feels, so she sets to work to restore it, and along the way she finds herself.
Of course there is love, but above all a gallery of wonderful characters that will make you want to go to Italy too. If not to live, at least to spend a season.
Or, if you stay at home, you can always go for a country look. A light dress and a hat to protect you from the sun and you will be ready to travel to Pisa, Florence or Siena.
Renting a car and getting lost on the roads of Italy is an appealing plan. You have to dream, right?
4. Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
It is another film that does not age and that I can watch over and over again, because this very unusual family always makes me smile.
His trip to California in the yellow Volkswagen, to support the youngest of the family in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant, is quite an epic. A road movie that always leaves a very good taste in my mouth and I want it to last another couple of hours.
And it also makes me want to throw the blanket over my head and hit the road, with my traveling looks , comfortable as hell, and ready for adventure.
5. Yesterday (2019)
Another highly recommended musical comedy. A crazy movie, with parallel reality included, in which the Beatles never existed and an amateur singer looking for success appropriates the band's songs.
It will be because the scriptwriter is Richard Curtis, the same as others that I liked a lot like About time and Love Actually . And if I go further back, Notting Hill and Four Weddings and a Funeral , other feel-good movies that I've seen lots of times.
A movie that inspires me to think about preppy outfits for the fall that is already approaching.
And what movies inspire you? Tell me what your feel-good movies are and I'll add them to my list for when I want to see something that will make me smile for a long time.
