I'm already rubbing my hands together just thinking that there's less time left for the premiere of the the premiere of the fifth season of La Casa de Papel. Is there anything more entertaining than movies and heist series?
I don't know about you, but I got really hooked on the Professor, Tokyo, Denver, Berlin, Nairobi, Rio... and all the ones that came after.
And in a few weeks we have new chapters! Make a note: at the beginning of September, the first installment. And then another one: in December.
To whet your appetite, today I'm going to tell you some of the heist movies that I liked the most. heist movies that I have liked the most. Those that, from time to time, I repeat because they never expire. They are always a good option to in front of the TV with a bowl of popcorn.
Shall I tell you what they are?
My 5 heist movies favorites: movie heists and robberies
There are many and very good ones, so I assume that I'm going to miss I'm going to leave out some marvels that surely should be that surely should be on this list.
But as I want to summarize I'm going to tell you about 5 heist movies that are liked for different reasons. With robbery and heist plotswith clever and very skilled thieves, with jewels, paintings, safes and lots of action.
And if you like the combination of cinema and jewelry, read here which are the coolest necklaces coolest necklaces in the history of cinema.
And now, let's talk about robberies:
Ocean's 8 (2018)
It is the last film in the saga, with the peculiarity that it stars women... thieves!
A golden opportunity to see divas like Cate Blanchet, Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihana... and more. Con artists and thieves, each with her own specialty, who organize to steal a diamond necklace to steal a diamond necklace (from Cartier, no less) valued at a hundred million dollars.
The first movie was a highlight. Ocean's Eleven (2001) is unforgettable because of the combination of George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt, a cast of luxury thieves who, in addition to pulling off the heist, also got the audience in their pocket.
Then came Ocean's Twelve (2004) y Ocean's Thirteen (2007), which maintained the level (although the first one is a unique gem).
And finally, this spin-off fenenino that has lived up to the previous films.
2. The Secret of Thomas Crown (1999)
In this case I will talk about the version starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo, which is the one I have more recent in my memory.
Although it would be fair to name you also the original version, from 1968, with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, which was entitled The Thomas Crown Case. The plots of both are a little different, but the basis is the same in both: a robbery.
In the old version, it is about robbing a bank. In the modern version, a millionaire Monet.
But the key to both films is the main character, Thomas Crown. A handsome, intelligent, duplicitous and elusive millionaire. And a female character, the independent investigator who follows her intuition and tries to hunt him down. follows her intuition and tries to hunt him down. Wonderful, both Russo and Dunaway.
The Italian Job (2003)
Another movie with a double version. This one from 2003, with Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton, Charlize Theron, Donald Sutherland and a few more familiar faces, is the remake of the film of the same title starring Michael Caine in 1969, a cop classic.
The truth is that they are two quite different movies, with a common ingredient: the unforgettable and thrilling chases in Mini through the streets of Italy.
In both the core is a robbery (of course) but the developments are different. The old version has an undoubtedly British touch (did you know that Benny Hill, the comedian, appears?), with Caine as a hardened thief just out of jail.
While the more modern one stars a young American robber who wants to avenge his mentor's death by organizing a robbery. avenge the death of his mentor by organizing a robbery. Entertainment guaranteed.
4. The Trap (1999)
Maybe you can tell me that it's not the best heist movie, but it's that the combination of Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones is enough for me to put it in this top five personal.
This duel on the screen between two greats, the confrontation of two out-of-this-worlders, won me over as soon as I saw the film the first time.
In this case, they plan a robbery together, but neither one trusts the other, so they are tested throughout the film. are put to the test throughout the film.
And, like all of them, it has a mythical scene: When she trains to cross a room dodging laser beams.
5. Bonnie & Clyde (1967)
I leave for the end the classic of classics. The heist movie par excellence, doomed to an (inevitable) dramatic ending.
The story is true, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were a couple of American robbers with a lot of robberies behind them. Their escape across the country was violent and very was violent and very bloody, nevertheless they exerted a certain fascination on the public that practically elevated them to the category of myth.
On screen, it was Warren Beatty and Faye Dunnaway. The final scene, even though I've seen it a bunch of times, still makes my hair stand on end.
These are my favorite robbery and heist movies. Can you tell me which ones you liked?
