Although I am still enjoying the good weather, the truth is that I always keep an eye on my wardrobe to think about having everything ready for the next season.
Thus, I can calmly review my clothes and prepare myself as I like, knowing a little in advance what the basic pieces are going to be, those that I want to have yes or yes because they are the ones that the most stylish instagrammers are going to wear .
And I want to be there first!
Take note of these 5 key pieces for your autumn wardrobe
Surely you will have to buy something if you want to be up to date, but others you can rescue from the bottom of your closet and update them with some details.
That's why I really like to get ahead. Thus, as soon as the thermometer drops a bit, I am one of the first to go out with the autumn look ready.
Do you want to do the same as me? Take note:
1. Platforms: the 70s are back
Or the 90s, if you want, because that decade was also very fashionable. In fashion, all trends go back and forth, and it took time for those very thick-soled shoes to be seen on the street in all their variants.
They are the flat platforms or flatforms , and they allow you to go several centimeters higher (as far as you want to go, because they can be very high).

I personally love them because they allow me to wear heels without the discomfort of a stiletto . The platform helps the foot to maintain its natural position and, if you don't abuse the unevenness, you can last the whole day without slowing down.
And the best thing is that you can find almost any type of platform shoe, there are no limits! From the most elegant dress shoe to sports sneakers , through boots, sandals, open shoes... everything can be worn with a few extra centimeters.
Here the important thing is spontaneity and comfort (you know that the trend is still the natural look) , and few things are more artificial than walking with fear because heels bother you.
2. Shirts with babydoll collar
Another of the trends of the year that continues and that we will see again when the temperatures begin to drop: wide collars on shirts and dresses.
You will hear that they are called in different ways: baby neck, boob or bib neck, Peter Pan and other names. They provide a childish air, something naïve , and for me they have a very clear romantic inspiration.
Although there are many shapes of baby collars, they generally have two large lapels, often embellished with embroidery or bows, or topped with lace.
For them to be truly babydoll necklines, they have to be XL and occupy, if not the entire shoulders, at least more than half. And let them get attention, because that's what it's all about.
If you wear it in a piece with large puffed sleeves, you complete the effect.
3. Knitted vests to keep you warm…just enough
You always have to have them in the closet. Sometimes they get left behind for a few seasons, but this is one garment that we know keeps coming back. You just have to wait a bit to get it back on the street.
And also, this year, it returns with force, in all its versions.
This fall we are going to see classic fitted waistcoats on the street , like those that were part of the three-piece suit of a lifetime, although modernized to fit the 21st century.
You can wear it with tailored trousers if you need a slightly formal look to go to the office, for example.
But also with slightly more fun skirts. It still takes the preppy look, but you can add more informal touches that personalize the style.
Another option is knitted vests, both monocolor and with their classic rhombuses. In any version, it still maintains a certain British college air that works so well.
4. Leather garments (or leather effect)
They don't have to be animal leather, just look like it. Many of us are already betting on vegan leather, much more sustainable and respectful.
But the important thing: one or two pieces of this type are going to be essential in your autumn wardrobe. Whether it's pants, a skirt, a jacket... or a total look with a leather effect.
If I had to choose a winning fabric, it would be this, without a doubt. Both for daily outfits and for going out. The key will be in the accessories.
5. Tailoring: back to work
In the last year and a half we have hardly dressed for work. Teleworking has changed our rhythms and looks , but little by little we return to the office and that is why slightly more formal clothes reappear on the streets.
I say a bit because the jacket suit is no longer the typical boring garment that you have in your closet only for serious meetings, but it allows you to attend any type of event, even do a long afterwork !

Making a tailor-made suit is an increasingly affordable luxury, but in stores you can find many interesting variations, either with pants or a skirt.
The trend is to play with shapes, colors and patterns , and look for the combination that you most want: pleated pants, fitted jackets, midi skirts...
And a trick to attract all eyes: leave the shirt on the hanger, button up the jacket to the maximum and complete your outfit with a striking necklace or pendant that adds a touch of colour. For example, the Siara Turquoise. You will be the center of attention!
